Ashwagandha is part of the Nightshade Family
In our lives in this era of time, we are more stressed out than we need to be. Time seems to be racing and we are all on the race track moving in a hurry. With these perceived and some of the real time crushers and life stresses, some of us will neglect ourselves, our well being and will just add more stress. Stress will increase the destruction of our immune systems, mental and emotional state and will eventually affect our physical bodies. Stress and lack of sleep will produce the chemical Cortisol. Cortisol needs to be put in check so that we can level out and be productive without the stress. Balance.
Ashwagandha, is an adaptogenic herb popular in Ayurvedic medicine that has shown incredible results for lowering cortisol and balancing thyroid hormones.

Your adrenal glands are endocrine glands that are responsible for releasing hormones (cortisol and adrenaline) in response to stress on your body.
If your adrenals are overtaxed due to an overabundance of emotional, physical and mental stress, it can lead to a condition known as adrenal fatigue. Emotional, physical, and chemical stress can all have damaging effects to the brain and nervous system. Recent research has proven ashwagandha is more than a stress reliever, it also protects the brain from degeneration and improves symptoms of alzheimer’s, depression, and anxiety.
It seems that we all are going to suffer stress in the world we have created. We are so fortunate that Mother Nature provides an option for our health and healing.
Ashwagandha can be purchased at your Health Food stores and is highly recommended.
You can take Ashwagandha tablets or if you like there is also an option for a tincture.
If you buy the powder, at night add it to your favorite tea or a warm glass of milk (which ever kind you prefer) and enjoy 45 minutes before bedtime.
One or two teaspoons of Ashwagandha powder twice daily (3-6 grams daily) is the most commonly recommended dosage, for both short and long term use. Ashwagandha should be taken with meals.
