Quit Cramping Me Yarrow
This will be a short, sweet and informative blog post on what yarrow is and how you can use it for Menstrual issues, Fevers and Psychic power. Below you can find where to purchase yarrow.
Yarrow is used as a tonic in helping to regulate the functions of the liver. It tones the mucous membrane of the stomach and bowels and heals the gladular system. It acts as a blood cleanser and opens pores to permit perspiration for elimination of waste. It relieves the kidneys and can help with incontinence. Use of the leaves helps in blood clotting on wounds. Although I prefer the use of Comfrey root or leaf to heal wounds, Yarrow leaf can also be used on cuts, not only for healing but in clotting and to stop bleeding when used externally. Read our Comfrey Root blog post here: http://workwithdynamicduo1014.blogspot.com/2015/03/comfrey-root-to-ease-pain-how-to-use.html
For we women with painful menstrual cycles and clotting, Yarrow will help with easing cramping. Either taken as a tea or in a sitz bath, yarrow helps to relieve clotting and will stimulate bleeding. Because it stimulates bleeding and releases clots the painful process we suffer at the beginning of our moon cycle can be substantially eased by taking Yarrow as a tea. I have used yarrow with all three of our daughters. When I can wrestle the grumpy emotional, hormonal drama queens down during their moon cycles, they experience relief of cramping and bleed with more ease. Drink Yarrow tea twice a day the day before and during the first two days of your moon cycle. Use 1 tablespoon of herb to 8oz of hot water and steep. You can also make a tincture. The video link give instructions on How to Make A Yarrow Tincture. http://youtu.be/AljqzkynECQ
NOTE *** because Yarrow tones the mucous membrane of the stomach it is great for bowel cramping as well. It aids in digestion, bloating and gas issues.
When our girls catch a cold or just feel yucky from cold symptoms I brew yarrow tea and magically they begin to return to normal. Yarrow can be used to reduce fever. It allows you to sweat and cools you down. The blood cleansing affect pushes toxins out through your pores and makes you well. Use a tea to help fight fever and colds.
Okay now down to Magical uses!!!
Yarrow when taken as a tea will help with Psychic ability. It can bring vivid images and clarify murky visions. Drink the tea ( 1 tablespoon to 8oz of hot water) an hour before (don't want to wake up with wet sheets) retiring to slumberland and your dreams can become more prophetic! You can also have a cup of Yarrow tea prior to your meditation practice to enhance a meditative state.
Yarrow in Hoodoo and other magical practices is said to bring courage to overcome your fears.
1. Place the herb in a sachet and hold in your hand when facing something fearful; you will gain courage.
2. A Hoodoo practice is to write out your fears on parchment paper or like in old days on a brown paper bag. Cross the written fears with your name nine times. Carry the name paper in a yellow mojo bag with a pinch yarrow and nettle and you will eventually overcome your fears.
3. Use yarrow branches in your I-Ching divination.
4. For love sweet love, a bunch of dried yarrow hung over the bed or yarrow used in wedding decor will bring 7 years of lasting love!
You can purchase Yarrow from Rose Mountain Herbs, or your local health food store that carries Yarrow.
